An American Legion Award for ISSSC

The American Legion presented the International Society for Six Sigma Certification with a Certificate in Recognition of Outstanding Achievement in the Employment of Veterans in 2010. The certificate was presented in November 19, 2010.

The International Society for Six Sigma Certification and the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center have joined forces to improve services for Veterans.

Cincinnati, Cleveland, November 4, 2010: The International Society for Six Sigma Certifications (ISSSC) and the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center (LSCVAMC) have entered into an agreement for a Systems Redesign at the Medical Center’s Wade Park Campus. This contract was undertaken to improve customer service and reduce administrative costs in order to better serve the Veteran community. The Systems Redesign will involve cost reductions and process improvements in operating rooms, patient flow, quality of care and other areas as part of the systems redesign effort. ISSSC is providing training and support to the Louis Stokes Medical Center on this project.

Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center provides both inpatient and outpatient health care services at two facilities located in Cleveland (Wade Park) and Brecksville, Ohio. There are also 12 Community Based Outpatient Clinics within Northeast Ohio. The Wade Park Campus is classified as a Level 1 (the most complex) type of medical facility because of the range of available services. It is a teaching hospital with full service patient care, as well as education & research center.
